So last year I got an opportunity to explore the astounding island called the Andamans. With the vibrant beaches, wild forests and the extraordinary history it was the place worth visiting. The miserable life of the tribal communities especially Jarawas is empathetic. It’s amazing to see the people settled so happily even in such a small island. Away from the chaotic world, it’s a place to find peace. The natural beauty here is worth admiring. God must have taken some extra time to beautify this place.

Common tips for the travellers:

  • There’s no network connectivity for the Jio users. What works best is Airtel, so make sure you have a backup option.
  • It’s the place of some tribal communities who haven’t developed. It’s a crime to take their pictures. So, please respect the community if you don’t wanna go behind the bars.
  • Indians can visit only the Andaman islands without a visa. If you wanna travel to the Nicobar island there’s a different procedure.
  • Climatic condition is humid. Your clothes won’t dry easily. So prepare accordingly.
  • There are some islands which are beautiful but still aren’t much crowded. If you wanna relax alone do contact locals and ask about these unpopular beaches.

Swaraj Dweep(Havelock):

Havelock island

If you visit Andaman don’t miss this as it has the heart of Andamans. There’s heaven in Havelock. This is the most costly island as the prices for the hotels and the ferry is high. You need to board a ferry from Port Blair to the Havelock island. It would take around 90 minutes to reach here. Lots of water sports activities like scuba diving, sea walking, snorkelling, speed boat rides, banana boat rides are available on this island. If you wanna save some bucks carry your own gears but if you don’t carry it borrow it from them.

Ross island:

This island is full of the ruins of buildings made by the Britishers. Even though the structure isn’t as appealing as it should be but the island looks beautiful as it is. You could see the blue water all over the island. This is a relatively smaller island than any other island that I saw in the Andaman. And it’s just a 10 minutes distance from the Port Blair. You will also see the ruins of the church, powerhouse and some buildings used by the Britishers during that time.

Neil island:

So, if you’re on a budget you must definitely visit this island. It has plenty of water sports activities like scuba diving, banana boat ride, dolphin ride etc. which are cheaper than that in the Havelock. And the island itself is also so blue and appealing that you won’t stop staring it. This is not far from Port Blair as it’s just in 20 minutes distance with a ferry ride.

Limestone Cave in Baratang island:

Baratang island being the treasure of Andaman is a less touristy spot but if you love history and geography then it’s a must to visit this. This island is known for its very famous limestone cave which looks so scintillating. Moreover, there are some stones which have taken some shapes and it does sprinkle bright like a diamond. Yeah, you heard it right!! Even the way to reach here is quite adventurous, here forest looks exactly like amazon forest. It’s adorable.

Cellular Jail Port Blair:

I’m sorry for not putting a good quality image but my blogs should include my images(XD).

History lovers it’s another spot for you. Its architecture is stunning but when you hear about how Indian freedom fighters were treated here you will get a completely different perspective.

They even have the show during the evening hours where they tell about the sufferings of our Indian freedom fighters. Don’t miss that out! You need to book the seats online.

Chidiya Tapu:

This is a must-visit spot if you love birds. Tons of birds make a group and roam around this tapu making wonderful noise. If you’re lucky enough you’ll be able to see that. And make sure that you visit here during sunset because you won’t encounter birds during day time. And even the sunset looks magical!

Travelling is so much fun. You don’t only calm your mind but you get to sharpen your brain. I mean you learn a lot even while you travel. Travel isn’t luxury but it’s a never-ending adventure.

Hope you read the entire blog. And it gives me satisfaction to see your smile.
